Before founding Cultivate, Kayla spent nearly nine years in Vail, Colorado, working in the hospitality industry — an experience that shaped her belief that great brands, like great hospitality, are built on genuine connection and an eye for detail. It's also where she built some of her most meaningful friendships and life experiences.
Kayla's roots run deep — literally. She grew up around agriculture, including a season spent driving semi-trucks during sugar beet harvest in North Dakota's Red River Valley, and today she lives on a farm with her family of eight. An avid gardener with a growing collection of indoor plants, she brings that same patience — planting, tending, and eventually harvesting something worth having — into every brand she builds.

Meet Kayla, she is a graduate from Alexandria Technical College in 2010, launching a design career that has since earned her 8 ADDY Awards and 17 total ADDY nominations. In 2025, she was honored as one of just 26 women selected nationwide for Rising Through the Ranks, an exclusive leadership training program held in Nashville. Alongside her studio work, she has planned and executed more than 20 events featuring nationally known and iconic artists, bringing that same strategic, detail-oriented mindset to live experiences as she does to brand identities, campaigns, and websites.
